U.S. Census - Stand up and be counted!
The ISBA is proudly supporting the 2010 United States Census and encourages everyone to respond in a timely manner.
The U.S. Constitution mandates that a census take place every 10 years to count every resident. The 2010 Census will officially begin in March when households receive the ten-question questionnaire. Everyone is legally required to complete and return the forms. The information contained is kept confidential and is used to determine allocation of funds for things like schools, hospitals, infrastructure, and to draw congressional boundaries for federal and state governments.
Official census forms will not ask for or about legal status or require social security numbers. Beware: any forms that contain requests for this information are not genuine.
For your convenience, the Census forms will arrive with a postage-paid return envelope.
Should you have questions about the process, visit the U.S. Census website at http://2010.census.gov/2010census/
Stand up and be counted. It’s the law.
